Overview

Dad ’n Me is a 2005 Newgrounds side-scrolling brawler programmed by Tom Fulp with art by Dan Paladin. Fight through the neighborhood using light attacks, heavy attacks and combos.

The game sends its purple protagonist through short combat areas filled with groups of opponents. Movement, spacing and attack combinations matter more than simply repeating one button.

Dad ’n Me uses cartoon violence and is not presented as a children’s game. The original Flash controls use the arrow keys to move, A for a light jab and S for a heavy attack.

How to Play

Focus the game area, then test the current wrapper controls. The original mapping is the arrow keys for movement, A for a light jab and S for a heavy attack.

Approach enemies from an angle instead of walking directly into a group. Mix light and heavy attacks to find combos that keep opponents from responding.

Keep moving after a knockdown and avoid being surrounded. If performance is uneven, the original author notes that Q toggles the Flash quality setting, though this may differ in an emulated player.
