In Diablo, your objective is to explore the multi-level dungeon beneath Tristram Cathedral, defeating monsters and bosses to ultimately confront Diablo. You control your character from an overhead perspective, moving with the directional pad and attacking with the X button.
Different face buttons are used for casting spells, using items, and interacting with the environment. The core gameplay loop involves clearing rooms of enemies, managing your health and mana potions, and collecting gold and better equipment from chests and defeated foes.
A key early strategy is to carefully manage your resources, retreating to town to heal and sell loot when necessary. As you progress deeper, the challenge increases, requiring more strategic use of your character's unique skills—whether you are a warrior, rogue, or sorcerer.
Focus on upgrading your gear frequently and learning enemy attack patterns to survive the increasingly difficult encounters in the later levels.
If the keyboard does not respond, click the game screen first and check the actual key mappings in the player controls. Arrow keys scrolling the page can mean the game does not have input focus.
On a phone, check whether the player provides touch buttons. Try landscape or fullscreen if the controls are too small. After connecting a gamepad, press a button with the game focused and check whether the player recognizes it.
For a black screen or a stalled load, wait briefly before using Reload player or Browse games in the embedded player or play page. Reloading restarts the player and may lose unsaved progress. If no save option is available, do not rely on refreshing to preserve progress.
