The game is the Japan-only Super Famicom adaptation associated with the arcade title Denjin Makai. It keeps the belt-scrolling combat format while adapting the roster and action for the home console.

This release should not be confused with the unrelated 1984 computer game Ghost Chaser. The Super Famicom title was developed by Winkysoft and published by Banpresto.
