Overview

Sichuan Mahjong: Xue Zhan Dao Di is a fast four-player variant built around numbered suits, a missing-suit requirement and continued play after the first winner leaves the hand.

The widely documented Chengdu-style form uses 108 suited tiles without winds or dragons. Players must eliminate one suit before winning, may pung or kong but not chow, and continue until three players have won or the wall ends.

Rules called “Sichuan Mahjong” still vary. Exchanging three tiles, choosing a missing suit, kong payments, ready-hand penalties and scoring caps depend on the room or implementation, so this page does not promise every regional option.

How to Play

If the game uses an exchange phase, choose three same-suit tiles as required. Then select the suit to discard and clear that suit before pursuing a win.

Build a legal hand from the remaining two suits. Pung and kong claims are available in common Sichuan rules, while chow is normally disabled.

After the first player wins in Xue Zhan Dao Di, the remaining players continue. Track which opponents have left and avoid reaching the wall with an unready hand if the build applies ready-hand penalties.
